| Abstract: | Angiographic examinations of 42 patients after percutaneous embolization of the hepatic artery system were performed for dearterialization of the tumour or reduction of the arterial bloodflow in cirrhosis of the liver complicated by portal hypertension. High effectiveness of metallic spiral emboli was revealed for the creation of stable permanent action on different portions of the hepatic artery. The results obtained show high efficiency of proximal embolization of the hepatic artery in treatment of tumors and cirrhosis of the liver and its advantages over the surgical ligation. |
