Effects of caregiver readiness on family relocation stress of patients transferred from ICU

Objective To explore the status quo of primary caregivers'readiness for ICU patients transferred from ICU and its influence on the relocation stress.Methods A total of 220 primary caregivers of ICU patients transferred out of a 3A-level hospital in Huzhou city were investigated by general data questionnaire,Care Preparedness Scale and Family Relocation Stress Scale.Results The total score of readiness of primary caregivers of ICU patients was(15.31±3.79),and the total average score of relocation stress was(2.31±0.27).Each item and total score of care readiness were negatively correlated with each dimension and total score of relocation stress(P<0.01).Religious belief and caregiver readiness were the factors that influenced the relocation stress level of primary caregivers of ICU transferred patients.Conclusion The primary caregivers of ICU patients have inadequate preparation of care and a medium level of relocation stress,and there is an obvious negative correlation between them.Therefore,active intervention measures should be taken to attach importance and improve the degree of care readiness of primary caregivers of ICU patients,so as to reduce the level of relocation stress.
