| Abstract: | The Heart governs Blood and the spirit.It is the Zang that is related to body and mind.The treatment of heart palpitations in Shang Han Za Bing Lun embodies the idea of Simultaneous regulation of the body and mind.From the perspective of regulating body, which Zhongjing put first, the main pathological factors of heart palpitations was classified as Water-rheum and Phlegm, and treating with Water-rheum eliminating and Phlegm clearing method, which is based on the idea that form harmony leads to spirit prosperity.From the perspective of regulating the mind, which Zhongjing put as the better and more important method.Zhang Zhongjing made good use of Guizhi(cinnamon sticks) and Gancao(licorice) to activate Yang with spicy and sweet tastes of the drugs, to nourish Heart and calm the mind, because it can calm the palpitations to regulate the mind and can also activate the blood to regulate the form.The clam spirit would lead to the health of form.The thoughts of preventing diseases in Shang Han Za Bing Lun is fully embodied by regulating of the body and mind simultaneously. |
