Research Progress of Chemical Constituents and Pharmacological Activities of Malus hupehensis

Malus hupehensis is a kind of traditional medicinal and edible plant,it is widely distributed in China and has a long history of application.Previous research found that M. hupehensis is rich in protein,polyphenols,flavonoids and trace elements,it has kinds of pharmacological activities,such as antioxidant,hypoglycemic,anti-fatigue and liver protection.What's more,M. hupehensis can be used as a raw material extracted phloridzin,and be developed as potential plant resources of diabetes drugs.As a result,M. hupehensis has a broad prospect in the development and utilization of medicines,beverages and health care products.In order to use M. hupehensis better,this article summaries research progress of its chemical constituents and pharmacological activities.
