Abstract: | The use of psychoactive medication to control the activity levels of children has reached a heightened level in recent years. Parents, teachers and other professionals are involved in treatment programs often in spite of limited knowledge of the mechanisms through which drugs operate, the types of drugs being used, and the anticipated and unanticipated effects of those drugs. Information regarding the critical factors in drug treatment programming is presented in this paper; it is hoped that this information will enable individuals to better function as drug monitors. |
