| Abstract: | Background Thrombolysis is considered to be standard therapy for patients with pulmonary embolism presenting with shock, despite a paucity of large clinical trials. The benefit of thrombolysis in submassive pulmonary embolism (right ventricular dysfunction without shock) is debated. |
