Application of fire prevention and safety management measures in reducing fire risk in operating room

Objective To investigate the role of fire prevention and safety management measures in reducing fire risk.Methods A series of measures can be done to reduce the fire risk of the operating room,which include strengthening the fire emergency plan training of the operation team,doing fire risk assessment form before operation and evaluating fire risk during operation,taking preventive measures in time,strengthening the supervision of the operation room fire source,flammable and explosive items,environmental temperature and humidity as well as other details,strengthening the use of electrical surgery equipment management,advocating open and transparent safety culture,timely investigation and rectification of fire hazards.Results The number of fire-related adverse events reported increased year by year;fire hazards can be dealt with quickly and effectively;personnel awareness of fire prevention in operating room increased.Conclusion The preventive safety management of fire requires the operation team and the management team to work together and formulate the corresponding work flow and system in time to minimize the fire risk in the operating room.
