Effects of anesthesia with propofol combined with etomidate on hemodynamics in patients undergoing surgery for ovarian cancer

Objective To investigate the effects of anesthesia with propofol combined with etomidate on hemodynamics in patients undergoing surgery for ovarian cancer. Methods 60 patients with ovarian cancer were randomly divided into control group and experimental group, with 30 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated with traditional anesthesia, while patients in the experimental group were anaesthetized with propofol combined with etomidate. The changes of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate,Cooper score, electromyography(EMG) score, onset time of muscle relaxation effect, extubation time and recovery time of orientation were compared between the two groups. Results The experimental group had systolic blood pressure of(126.20±1.57) mm Hg(1 mm Hg = 0.133 kPa), diastolic blood pressure of(67.20±0.42) mm Hg and heart rate of(69.50±0.21) beats/min, which were better than(117.64±1.52) mm Hg,(62.90±0.37) mm Hg and(65.80±0.18) beats/min of the control group, respectively;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The experimental group had Cooper score of(2.15±0.12) points, EMG score of(6.50±1.70) points,onset time of muscle relaxation effect of(100.20±4.20) s, extubation time of(14.45±1.70) min and recovery time of orientation of(15.22±1.02) min, which were better than(2.01±0.11) points,(15.57±1.70) points,(120.20±3.90) s,(23.11±1.57) min and(24.05±1.13) min of the control group, respectively;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Anesthesia with propofol combined with etomidate anesthesia in patientsndergoing surgery for ovarian cancer may effectively maintain hemodynamic stability and prevent cerebrovascular adverse events. Thus, it is worth promoting.
