Abstract:Extensive pudendal evoked potentials evaluation were carried out in the patients with erectile dysfunction. The tests consisted of scalp somatosensory evoked potentials, scalp motor evoked potenials and sacral reflex latency. Of these patients, 31 have the erectile dysfunction after the fracture of pelvic, 11 after lumber fracture or lumber nerve damages, 9 after pelvic surgery, 16 with hypertention, 17 with diabetes and 62 with the history of severe masturbation more than 5 years. The results showed that the rate of the abnormality of the pudendal evoked potentials were 51.61%, 54.53%, 77.77%, 31.25%, 47.05% and 32.26% in the groups of the patients with pelvic fracture, lumber fracture or lumber nerve damages, pelvic surgery, hypertention, diabetes and severe masturbation respectively. The rate of extra-electricle stimulation were 55.55%, 45.54%, 41.17%, 33.70%, 30.60% and 6.25% respectively. This study indicated that the above mentioned patients have high possibility of the pudendal, sacral and spinal nerve injuries, and the pudendal evoked potentials are very useful in the diagnosis of the erectile dysfunction.
