Abstract: | A prospective investigation, using pyocine typing, was undertaken to quantify the incidence of Pseudomonas infection and cross infection in a general ICU. It was demonstrated that the isolation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from numbers of patients did not necessarily indicate that a focus of infection existed within the Unit, and no instance of cross infection was demonstrated. |
