| Abstract: | Imipramine administered i.p. in rats following intraventricular administration of DL-NE-73H decreases the amount of unchanged NE in the brain and leads to a significant increase of normetanephrine, methylated acid and methylated glycol. The results are the same if demethylation of imipramine is inhibited by pretreatment with SKF 525-A. According to current findings, imipramine itself has an effect on the storage capacity of brain tissue for NE. |
