咽旁间隙肿瘤手术并发症分析及防治措施

Analysis and preventions of complications in parapharyngeal space neoplasms surgery

Objective: Analysis the complications of parapharyngeal space neoplasms surgery,in order to find out the preventive measures. Methods: Retrospective-analysis of 26 patients with parapharyngeal space neoplasms were carried out in The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University during March 2010 to Sept.2011. Results: 19 cases had no postoperative complications and wound healing,7 cases had varity of complications such as surgical cavity infection,pharyngeal fistula,permanent nerve injury,carotid artery ligation,difficulty in breathing caused by postoperative bleeding cavity,intraoperative CSF leakage. Conclusion: Familiar with the anatomy of the parapharyngeal space,comprehensive and detailed preoperative imaging and surgical assessment,selecting the appropriate surgical approach,correctly handling the tissues adjacent to the tumor,dealing with the wound-related postoperative problems could be successful in excision the tumor and reducing postoperative complications.
