A clinical observation of the therapy for malignant hydrothorax by using rmhTNF combining with IL-2

Objective: The aim of our study was to explore the short-term effects and complication of chemotherapy combining with interleukin-2(IL-2)and recombinant mutant human tumor necrosis factor(rmhTNF)in the treatment of malignant hydrothorax. Methods: 60 cases patients with malignant hydrothorax were randomly divided into two groups.36 examples were given thoracic cavity injection IL-2 and rmhTNF as group A,24 cases in group B using rmhTNF alone.All of the patients were treated with Gemcitabine combining with Nedaplatin for chemotherapy.The effects and complications were observed. Results: The total response rate in group A was higher than that in group B(80.6% vs.50.0%),which had statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The complications included chest pain and fever. Conclusion: The therapy of IL-2 combining with rmhTNF intra-thoracic injection for malignant hydrothorax could achieve better effects,which is worth to be used in clinic.
