| Abstract: | A fatal case of methamphetamine poisoning whilst in police custody is described. Drug identification and quantification in postmortem blood, urine, brain and gastric contents was achieved using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The blood concentration of methamphetamine was 4.92 micromol/100 g, which is in the lethal range. It is necessary for police officers to have a good knowledge of the toxic effects of abused drugs. |
