Abstract:Background It is difficult to satisfactorily cure pain. Current analgesic drugs focused on preventing the transmission of action potentials from reaching the brain rather than pinpointing the springhead giving birth to pain, the receptor itself. Due to the clone of the pain receptors, pain management have taken a step forward. Objective To summarize the recent research on the agonists and antagonists of Transient Receptor Potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) at home and abroad to explore new field of pain management. Content TRPV1 is a nonselective cation channel. Compelling data has been gathered on the role of the channel in inflammatory and neuropathic diseases. The agonist and antagonist of TRPV1 interrupt the generation and transmission to achieve the purpose of analgesia. Trend The agonist and antagonist of TRPV1 with high efficiency but less side effects will be research hot topics in pain treatment.
