Allele Loss on Chromosome 17 in Ovarian Cystic Teratomas

We examined the DNA from 12 patients with ovarian tumors (fourbenign germ cell tumors, one malignant germ cell tumor, onebenign common epithelial tumor and six common epithelial carcinomas)for the allele loss on chromosome 17 using 12 probes for hypervariableloci. At THH59 loss of heterozygosity (LOH) was detected inthree benign germ cell tumors and two epithelial carcinomas.At a more distal locus, KKA35, LOH was detected in three benigngerm cell tumors and one epithelial carcinoma.
