Clinical Study on Modified Huanglian Wendan Tang for Insomnia of Phlegm- HeatHarassing the Interior Type

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Huanglian Wendan tang for insomnia of phlegm-heat harassing the interior type.Methods:A total of 70 cases of patients with insomnia of phlegm-heat harassing the interior type were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method,35 cases in each group.The control group was treated with clonazepam tablets,and the observation group was additionally treated with Huanglian Wendan tang based on the treatment of the control group.Both groups were treated for three months.The clinical effect,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)scores and adverse reactions in the two groups were observed and compared.Results:The total effective rate was 97.14%in the observation group and 82.85%in the control group,the difference being significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of time for falling asleep,sleep efficiency,sleep disorders and daytime function in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05);the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was 8.57%in the observation group and 28.57%in the control group,the difference being significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Huanglian Wendan tang combined with clonazepam tablets has significant curative effect in treating insomnia of phlegm-heat harassing the interior type.
