| Abstract: | Objectives: To observe the changes of the brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEP) on patients with sudden deafness and explore the value of clinical application. Methods: The BAEP of patients with sudden deafness was compared with normal controls. Results: The BAEP of 100 patients with sudden deafness were all abnormal. The abnormal manifestations of BAEP were prolongation of peak latency and I - V ,III - V / I -III is bigger than controls normal. Conclusin: In patients with sudden deafness BAEP should be used as a routine test when BAEP was abnormal, CT or MRI should be examined. |
