Abstract: | Back pain is a common affliction which usually does not require imaging. However there are instances when imaging is not only appropriate but essential and must be performed urgently. This article uses a case study to illustrate why patients presenting with back pain and loss of normal gait and sphincter control require urgent magnetic resonance imaging of the whole spine. |
