Abstract:Objective To analyze and compare the efficacy of high viscosity bone cement and common bone cement in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF)by percutaneous vertebra plasty(PVP)and its influence on the prevention of leakage rate.Methods A retrospective selection of 120 patients with OVCF who underwent PVP treatment at the Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Changping District,Beijing from 2018 to 2019,were divided into group A(n=60)and group B(n=60)according to different bone cement infusions.Ordinary bone cement was used in group A,and high-viscosity bone cement was used in group B.The treatment effect and bone cement leakage rate were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in the amount of bone cement injected in group A and group B(4.79±0.58)mL vs.(4.82±0.63)mL,P>0.05].On the first postoperative day,the bone cement leakage rate of group B(11.7%)was significantly lower than that of group A(36.7%),and the difference was significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the VAS score of group A and group B during follow-up(1.55±0.3)points vs.(1.42±0.41)points,P>0.05].The ODI index and kyphotic Cobb angle of group B at follow-up were significantly lower than those of group A(27.38±2.16)points vs.(35.57±3.43)points,(12.35±2.13)°vs.(15.19±2.01)°],and the difference was significant(P<0.05)).The height of the anterior edge of the injured vertebra in group B at follow-up was significantly higher than that in group A(23.15±1.82 mm)vs.(21.85±1.93)mm],and the difference was significant(P<0.05).The recovery rate of injured vertebral height in group B was significantly better than that in group A(29.17±4.26)%vs.(21.58%±5.38)%],and the difference was significant(P<0.05).The rate of recurring vertebral fractures in group B(3.3%)was significantly lower than that in group A(11.7%),the difference was significant(P<0.05).Conclusion High viscosity bone cement PVP in OVCF treatment can achieve more effective correction of kyphosis Cobb Angle,restore the anterior height of injured vertebra,improve spinal function,and help to reduce the leakage rate and the rate of recurrent vertebral fracture.
