Clinical observation on treatment of ulcerative colitis with Qixianyijiang decoction combined with Chinese herbal enema

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of self-made Qixianyijiang decoction combined with Chinese medicine enema in the treatment of ulcerative colitis.Methods A total of 114 patients with ulcerative colitis who were admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2019 to June 2021 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 57 cases in each group.Both groups were treated with conventional Western medicine treatment,the control group was additionally treated with traditional Chinese medicine enema,and the observation group was treated with Qixianyijiang decoction on the basis of the control group.The clinical effects of the two groups were compared,and the scores of intestinal mucosal lesions before and after treatment and colonoscopy scores,disease activity index score,serum C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-13(IL-13),IL-12,serum miR98-5p,miR21-5p relative expression.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(89.47%vs.75.44%,χ²=6.998,P=0.030).After treatment,scores of intestinal mucosal lesions in the two groups(mucus pus and blood in the stool,diarrhea,loose stools,abdominal pain,congestion and edema,mucosal erosion,ulcer),colonoscopy score,disease activity index score and serum CRP,IL-12,IL-13,miR98-5p,miR-21 The expression of 5p decreased,and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(t/P=6.677/0.000,6.878/0.000,11.442/0.000,11.516/0.000,14.375/0.000,9.818/0.000,9.604/0.000,5.642/0.000,10.260/0.000,11.336/0.000,15.231/0.000,7.059/0.000,7.519/0.000).Conclusion Qixianyijiang decoction combined with traditional Chinese medicine enema can reduce the expression of serum miR215p and miR985p,reduce serum inflammatory index levels,improve clinical symptoms such as diarrhea,abdominal pain,and bloody stools,protect the intestinal mucosa,and have significant clinical effects.
