| Abstract: | Objective:To explore the damage effect and fibrosis process of fibrin glue combined with bleomycin(FG/BLM)on the superficial vein of lower limbs in rabbits.Methods:FG and FG/BLM were respectively injected into the left and right superficial veins of lower limbs of 12 rabbits.Specimens were obtained 3,7,14,28 days after injection(n=3)and the veins were examined generally and histologically.Results:Gross observation showed that the translucent or dark red embolus formed in the veins after BLM or FG/BLM injection.The veins gradually narrowed and became fibrotic after 2 weeks.Histological observation showed that both FG and FG/BLM injection could cause endothelial cell injury,discontinuity of tunica intima,and proliferation of fibrous tissue.The vascular wall was thickened and the lumen was narrowed and occluded at the later stage.Different degree of inflammatory reaction could be observed in the process of vascular damage and fibrosis.FG/BLM injection had a stronger effect on vein injury than FG injection alone.Conclusion:The study conforms both FG and FG/BLM have damage and fibrosis effect on rabbit vein,and provides a reference for the FG/BLM embolization and sclerotherapy of oral and maxillofacial venous malformations. |
