Application effect of nursing intervention based on protective motivation theory in elderly patients with chronic heart failure

Objective To explore the effects of nursing intervention based on protective motivation theory on cardiac function,quality of life,health literacy and compliance behavior of elderly patients with chronic heart failure.Methods A total of 94 elderly patients with chronic heart failure admitted in people's hospital of Puyang county from June 2018 to June 2019 were divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method,with 47 cases in each group.The control group was given routine nursing intervention,and the observation group was given nursing intervention based on protective motivation theory on the basis of the control group.The cardiac function index,quality of life,health literacy and compliance behavior were compared between the two groups.Results After intervention,LVEF and 6-MWD in the two groups increased,LVEDD and LVESD decreased,and those in the observation group were better than the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,SF-36 scores in the two groups increased,and those in the observation group were higher than the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,the health literacy scores and total score in the two groups increased,and those in the observation group were higher than the control group(P<0.05).The scores of regular medication,reasonable diet,regular exercise,health behavior and regular reexamination in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The nursing intervention based on protective motivation theory is helpful to develop the health literacy of elderly patients with chronic heart failure,and improve the cardiac function,quality of life and compliance behavior of patients.
