Abstract: | Clinical Characteristics Among 290 consecutive patients who underwent ablation for ventricular tachycardia (VT) or symptomatic premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) based on a focal mechanism1, 7 patients were found to have an ablation site at the base of the posterior papillary muscle (PPM) in the left ventricle(LV). All had normal LV systolic function. Structural heart disease was present in 2 patients, both of whom had coronary artery bypass surgery for coronary artery disease. Neither of these patients had experienced myocardial infarction. |
