| Abstract: | The aim of surgical treatment of a fixed stapes is to restore an as effective as possible impedance transfer of the ossicular chain and acoustic impedance of the annular ligament of the footplate, when it has lost elasticity, and this in order to achieve the best possible physiological vibration of the inner ear fluids. |
