Diabetes Influence on Surgery and the Perioperative Management Progress

Longevity, aging population and lifestyle changes, have been increasing the incidence of diabetes every year. In the medical literature, reported hyperglycemia and surgical prognosis risk are not uniform, for the surgery safety surgeons need to be vigilant. Perioperative glycemic control could raise the success of anesthesia, reduce postoperative complications, promote a better systemic recovery and improve surgical success. Standard treatment of perioperative and intraoperative hyperglycemia treatment can increase the surgery success rate and improve patient＇s life quality.
