Analysis on clinic and MRI/MRA of schemic infarction in 42 cases with tuberculous meningitis

Objective：To rise realization of schemic infarction occurred in patie nts of tuberculous meningitis. Methods：Analysis of Clinical and MRI in schemic infarction in 42cases with tuberculous meningitis. Results：The most frequent cl inical findings were fever,headache,vomiting,alteration of consciousness,cra nial nerve involvement,seizures,focal neurologic deficits and meningeal signs, and cerebrospinal fluid changes（increased intracranial pressure and protein, low glucose and mononuclear cell pleocytosis）.Patients had anterior c irculation infarcts in 38 cases,4 cases had infarcts in the vertebrobasilar ter r itories.Dis tribution of infarcts in the anterior circulation and meningeal inflammation,ba sal exudates,was shown by MRI（Magnetic resonance imaging）,and typically revealing multiple or bilateral lesions（tuberculous arteritis）in the territories of the middle cerebral artery perforating vessels was shown by MRA. Conclusion：Cerebrovascular complications of tuberculous meningitis are common,and may represent its most serious legacy. Outcome of schemic infarction occurred in patients of tuberculous meningitis wa s poor.
