Abstract:
Previous studies have noted a differential absorption of steroid hormones when they were suspended in a medium of polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG 400). The effect of this formulation, containing norethisterone 500 mcg and ethinyl estradiol 35 mcg, on the pituitary-ovarian axis was studied in twelve patients in order to assess its efficacy, while hopefully improving cycle control. Results demonstrated for the most part suppression of ovulation with initially, good cycle control.
