| Abstract: | The five - element doctrine is used to direct the compatibility of Chinese herbal formulas. The pathogenesis of visceral diseases and the five - taste theory should be strictly adhered, and the concept of counteration between yin and yang as well as healthy qi and pathogenic agent serves as the basis to maintain the interrelation of five elements. From the viewpoint of purging heart - fire, the five -element doctrine is used to direct the theoretical basis, method and therapeutic purpose of the compatibility of Chinese herbal formulas. |
