Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of interventional thrombolysis therapy via superselective intra-arterial catheterization in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction and discuss drug dosage, infusion speed, treatment time, and related complications. Methods: Eight patients with acute cerebral infarction were infused with several kinds of thrombolytic drugs, such as urokinase, Xueshuantong, and dexamethasone, etc, via superselective intra-arterial catheterization within 24 h. Recanalization of occluded vessels was observed by angiography. Results: Vessel recanalization was complete in 2 out of 8 patients and partial in 4 patients. The total recanalization rate was 75%. It was absent in 2 patients. Three patients were cured. Three patients were substantially improved and 2 patients were partially improved. Conclusion: Interventional therapy using several kinds of thrombolytic drugs is effective and safe in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction. Earlier therapy is associated with better effects. Satisfactory effects can be obtained by controlling the drug dosage and the infusion speed in the limited time windows without increasing hemorrhage risk.
