| Abstract: | The results of early pericardiectomy in 15 cases of acute purulent pericarditis were reported. 13 cases were followed up from 2 to 8 years, none of them developed chronic constrictive pericarditis. The operation is simple and can shorten the time of hospitalization following thorough debridement of the infected foci. |
