A SURVEY OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PERSONNEL HEALTH IN A MILITARY CLOSED CABIN

Objective To investigate the influencing factors and personnel health in a military artificial closed environment in order to provide the evidence for studying control measures. Methods The microwave radiation, noise, temperature, humidity, wind velocity, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide were detected. The workers exposed to this environment were investigated with the subjective symptom questionnaire. Results The maximum microwave radiation in position A was 39.9 W/m2 which exceeded the standard limit; and the daily doses of microwave radiation for 1 h-operation in position A, B, and C were 39.9 W·h/m2, 17.7 W· h/m2, and 5.8 W·h/m2 respectively, and also exceeded the standard limit. The noise in the ear phone in position C was 95.0 dB（A）which was over the limit;and about 60Hz,high intensity, low frequency noise existed within the closed cabin. The humidity（27.2% ）and wind velocity（0.0m/s） were below the limit. The CO concentration（30.0 mg/m3） reached the upper limit of the standard after closing tightly for 12 min. The scores of subjective symptoms in these workers were all above the mild degree. And, the more the work time was, the higher the scores were. Conclusion There are various harmful factors in the artificial closed environment during military operation. Some of the factors are over limit of the standard, which may cause adverse effects on the military personnel health.
