| Abstract: | Objective To evaluate the effects of doll therapy on the elderly with dementia.Methods The databases of PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,Cochrane Library,SinoMed,CNKI,Wanfang and VIP were searched by computer to collect the studies of randomized controlled trials on the effects of doll therapy on the elderly with dementia from the establishment of the database to May 23,2021.The studies were independently screened and extracted by two researchers,and RevMan5.3 software was used for Meta-analysis.Results A total of 7 studies were included,involving 491 patients.The results of the Meta-analysis showed that doll therapy could improve the cognitive function[MD=2.26,95%CI(1.97,2.55),P<0.01],improve the quality of life[SMD=0.96,95%CI(0.70,1.21),P<0.01],reduce agitation behavior[SMD=-0.77,95%CI(-1.43,-0.12),P=0.02]of the elderly with dementia.Conclusions Current evidence indicates that doll therapy is beneficial to improve cognitive function of the elderly with dementia,reduce agitation behavior and further improve life quality. |
