Effects of percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage on CPR and ALT in acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis

Objective To investigate the effect of ultrasound-guided percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage(PTCD) on C-reactive protein(CPR) and alanine transferase(ALT) in acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis. Methods The clinical data of 114 patients with acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis treated in our hospital from September 2016 to May 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. According to the treatment methods,they were divided into two groups, with 57 cases in each group. The control group was treated with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP), and the observation group was treated with PTCD, CRP and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), ALT, aspartate transferase(AST) levels, symptom relief time and hospital stay were compared between the two groups. Results 3 d after operation, the CRP, TNF-α, ALT, AST level in the observation group were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05), the shivering relief time, high fever relief time, abdominal pain relief time and hospital stay in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion PTCD can alleviate the inflammatory reaction of patients with acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis, improve clinical symptoms, and shorten the length of hospital stay.
