Observation on Treatment of Rhomboideus Injury by Acupuncture with Plum-blossom Needle and Spike Crochet Hook

In this study, tapping by plum-blossom needle along meridians combined with ticking by sharp crochet hook was used for treatment of rhomboid muscle injury in 256 patients. of the 256 cases, 236 cases were cured, accounting for 92. 18 %; 14 cases, markedly effective accounting for 5. 46% ; the rest 6 cases effective, accounting for 2. 34%. The total effective rate was 100%. Compared with the control group, the cure rate in the first treatment course in the treatment group were higher (P<0.01). It is concluded that plum-blossom acupuncture may improve micro-circulation in the diseased areas, whereas crochet hook ticking may eliminate adhesiveness between muscles and/or fasciae. Consequently, this combined therapy has the role of dredging meridian and relievillg pain.
