Analysis of Volatile Constituents in Herbal Pair Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae-Fructus Aurantii and Its Single Herb by GC-MS and HELP Method

Objective To analyze the volatile constituents in herbal pair（HP） Pericarpium cirri reticulatae- Fructus aurantii（PCR-FA） and its single herb. Methods Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry （GC-MS） and the chemometric resolution method named heuristic evolving latent projections（HELP） and temperatureprogrammed retention indice（PTRI） were used to analysis the volatile constituents in HP PCR-FA and its single herb. Results 45, 52 and 63 volatile chemical components in volatile oil of PCR, FA and HP PCR-FA were separately determined qualitatively and quantitatively, accounting for 99.02%, 98.27% and 97.98 % total contents of volatile oil of PCR, FA and HP PCR-FA respectively. Conclusion The main volatile constituents in PCR, FA and HP PCR-FA are D-Limonene（85.35%, 70.84% and 74.92 % total contents of volatile oil of PCR, FA and HP PCR-FA respectively）, beta-Myrcene（2.24%, 2.11% and 2.23 % total contents of volatile oil of PCR, FA and HP PCR-FA respectively） and 1,4-Cyclohexadiene, 1-methyl-4-（1 -methylethyl）- （5.39%, 6.09% and 6.04 % total contents of volatile oil of PCR, FA and HP PCR-FA respectively）.
