| Abstract: | We first detected glutathionyl hemoglobin (Hb) beta-chain in hemodialysis patients and healthy subjects using electrospray ionization liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. The ratio of glutathionyl Hb beta-chain to total beta-chain was markedly increased in the hemodialysis patients as compared with healthy subjects. Glutathionyl Hb will be used as a new clinical marker of oxidative stress. |
