Relationships among Personality Types, Social Support, and Interpersonal Trust in Postgraduates

Objective To investigate the relationships among personality types,social support,and interpersonal trust in postgraduates,to provide reference for mental health education of graduate students.Methods Using Social Support Rating Scale,Interpersonal Trust Scale and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire（EPQ）,we investigated and analysed 155 graduate students in Yunnan.Results ①Social supports of graduate students were different in different schools（F=4.161,P〈0.01） and majors（F=2.644,P〈0.01）.Interpersonal trust was not significantly different in all variables.②Interpersonal trust and social support were significantly negatively correlated（r=-0.299,P〈0.01）,and it was a significant positive correlation between interpersonal trust and EPQ N-dimension（r=0.296,P〈0.01）.③ Subjective support（t=-2.915,P〈0.01） and N-dimension（t=2.549,P〈0.01） had an significant effect on interpersonal trust.Conclusion Social support and personality types of graduate students have important influence on interpersonal trust,universities need to pay more attention to the establishment of social support networks and the education of students＇ healthy personality.
