| Abstract: | Ten cases of brain stem encephalitis and twenty of brain stem tumors,in- cluding four cases of neuropathologic study are reported in children The age of onset ranged fron 1 to 15 years.In both groups,cranial nerves were not invelved totally and pyramidal tract signs were detected more frequently.The author summarized the diagnostic points of the disease and indicated that it should be differentiated between brain stem encephalitides and brain stem tumors.The corticosteroid therapy presents apparent effect on the brain stem encephalitides. |
