Abstract:Objective:To observe levels of motilin in plasma and its clinical significance in patients with cerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction or subarachnoid hemorrhage. Methods: The levels of motilin in plasma were measured by radioimmunoassay in 138 cases of cerebrovascular disease and 28 healthy control subjects. Results: The levels of motilin in plasma in the three groups of cerebrovascular disease were increased more than that in control group. The levels of motilin in plasma in the three groups started to increase significantly during the first day. The levels of motilin in plasma reached the peak in the three groups of cerebrovascular disease on day 1 to 3 or day 4 to 7. They began to decrease from the eighth day. The levels of motilin in the three groups of cerebrovascular disease were higher than that in control group after 15 days. The severer the condition of cerebrovascular diseases , the higher the motilin levels. Conclusion: Motilin plays a major role in pathophysiological and pathogenetic mechanisms of cerebrovascular disease .
Keywords:Cerebral infarction Cerebral hemorrhage Subarachnoid hemorrhage Motilin
