The Association of Lifestyle Score with Dyslipidemia and Hyperuricemia in the Elderly Population

Objective To investigate the association of lifestyles score with dyslipidemia and hyperuricemia in the elderly.Methods In 2016,21390 elderly people who participated in the physical examination in a district of Wuhan were included in the study.Their lifestyle scores were calculated based on status of smoking,drinking,diet,exercise,body mass index,and waist circumference.Logistic regression and multiple linear regression analysis were used to explore the relationship between lifestyle scores and dyslipidemia,hyperuricemia,blood lipid levels and uric acid le-vels.Results Compared with the elderly with a lifestyle score of 0 to 1,the elderly with a score of 5 to 6 had lower risk of dyslipidemia(OR=0.464,95%CI=0.398~0.541)and hyperuricemia(OR=0.550,95%CI=0.449~0.675).Their triglyceride level(-0.292 mmol/L)and serum uric acid level(-28.437μmol/L)significantly decreased,and the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol level(0.179 mmol/L)increased.Conclusion An increase in lifestyle scores(that is,an increase in healthy lifestyle factors)can significantly reduce the risk of dyslipidemia and hyperuricemia.
