Effects of Calcium Dobesilate on Renal Injury in Patients with Diabetic Nephropathy

Objective: To study the effects of calcium dobesilate on renal injury in patients with diabetic nephropathy.Methods: Sixty-four cases of patients with stage Ⅲ and stage Ⅳ diabetic nephropathy were selected and were randomly divided into treatment group(1.5 g of calcium dobesilate daily) and control group.Urine albumin excretion(UAE),24-hour urine protein(TP/24h),blood rheology,alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),and serum creatinine(Scr) in both groups were monitored.Results: Twelve weeks after treatment,UAE in treatment group at stage Ⅲ was(176±28) μg/min,which was significantly lower than that of control group at stage Ⅲ(126±21] μg/min,P<0.05).TP/24h of treatment group at stage Ⅳ was(0.79±0.09) g(P<0.05,vs 0.83±0.11] g in control group).The whole blood viscosity and plasma viscosity were decreased significantly after the treatment of calcium dobesilate in both stage Ⅲ and stage Ⅳ patients(P<0.05).However,calcium dobesilate treatment didn't have significant influence on ALT,AST,BUN,and Scr(P>0.05).Conclusion: Calcium dobesilate has advantages on treating patients with diabetic nephropathy stage Ⅲ.
