Abstract:Objective To explore the mentods and effects of quantitative assessment of head nurses. Methods The regular quantitative assessment included 5 aspects of basic quality, quality of nursing, teaching and research, department management, and others. At the end of each year outstanding head nurses were assessed and appraised, and the head nurses less than 60 points were eliminated, and the positions would choose the head nurses by competition. Results After the quantitative assessment,compared to the quantitative assessment in 2009 ,the indicators were significantly improved in 2010, the difference statistically significant( P 〈 0.01 or P 〈 0.05 ). The excellent rate and the pass rate of head nurses at the year - end assessment were significantly higher than before ( P 〈 0.01 ). Conclusion The implementation of the regular quantitative assessment of head nurses mobilizes the enthusiasm of the head nurses and their sense of competition, improves the management level of head nurses and the quality of department work, and strengthenes the services awareness of nursing teams.
