JUVENILE ATHEROSCLEROTIC ANEURYSM OF THE ABDOMINAL AORTA

Atherosclerotic aneurysm of the abdominal aort.a, which usually occurs in patients at the age of 60-80 years, is dangerous because of its ten- dency to rupture. Our patient, aged 19, under- went aneurysmectomy for a progressively en- larged aneurysm. The operation was done with- out arterial reconstruction, a:s the collateral cir- culation was adequate. Pathologic examination showed that the aneurysm was atherosclerotic in nature.
