| Abstract: | Some benzimidazole nucleosides and acyclonucleosides were synthesized and tested in vitro as antiviral agents. None of them showed significant activity. Replacement of the benzenesulphonyl group at N-1 with the ribofuranosyl moiety or with the acyclovir side-chain was deleterious. |
