The Effect of Metabolic Syndrome on the Outcome of Labor

Objective To investigate tile influences of metabolie syndrome before pregnancy on birth outcomes. Methods First, the maternal was divided into metabolic syndrome group（ MS group） and non-metabolic syndrome group（ NMS group） according to the standard of International Diabetes Federation （ IDF）. Then, birth outcomes of the two groups were analyzed retrospectively. Results The incidences of cesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage, perineal laceration, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, polyhydramnios and premature rupture of membranes in MS group were higher than that in NMS group significantly（ P 〈 0. 05 or 0.01 ）. And the incidences of premature ehildren ,great ehihtren, neonatal hypoglycemia,hypoxie-ischemic encephalupathy and intraeranial hemorrhage were also higher than that in NMS group significantly （ P 〈 0.05 or O. 01 ）. Conclusion Metabolic syndrome before pregnancy has a adverse effects on the maternal and newborn. Early diagnosis,prevention and intervention of metabolic syndrome should be strengthened on women of childbearing age.
