Abstract: | Abdominal transposition of the female urethra, a rational choice for the surgical treatment of reflex neurogenic incontinence, has been used infrequently to date. We present a case to illustrate the steps in the surgical technique of transposition, emphasizing the principles we believe necessary to create a continent urethrovesical valve. If proper attention is given to surgical details the patient can achieve continence and require intermittent self-catheterization only. |
