| Abstract: | Objective To research the content and the antioxidative activity in vitro of polysaccharides from in Livistona chinensis.Methods Polysaccharides LCP was extracted by hotwater,Polysaccharides LCP1 and LCP2 were obtained after purification.The quantitative determination of LCP1 was performed at wavelength 490 nm with phenol-sulfuric acid.Scavenging effect to hydroxyl radical(·OH),superoixide anion(O-2·) and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical(DPPH·) were measured by using spectrophotometry for evaluating their antioxidant activity of LCP2.Results The content of LCP1 was 51.94%(RSD 1.39%,n=3).For 1.0 mg/mL LCP2,the scaveging rates of OH·,O-2·,DDPH· were 66.31%,60.11%,92.9 %,respectively.The scavenging effect of LCP2 was certain dosage-dependent.Conclusion Sulfuric acid-phenol method was simple,rapid,accurate and had a good sensitivity.The polysaccharides of Livistona chinensis showed high antioxidant activity,and can be applied as a potential natural antioxidant in Chinese Traditional Medicine. |
