| Abstract: | The interaction between FLFQPQRFamide and alpha 2-adrenergic spinal antinociception was examined in an electrophysiological study in the intact anaesthetised rat. The inhibition of C fibre-evoked neuronal responses by the selective alpha 2-adrenergic agonist dexmedetomidine was significantly reduced by intrathecal FLFQPQRFamide pretreatment. The results suggest a modulatory role of FLFQPQRFamide in spinal alpha 2-adrenergic antinociception. |
