Clinical study on treatment of large metastatic cervical lymphnodes of nasopharyngeal carcinoma by Shenlong Liquid in combination with thermotherapy and radiotherapy) in combination with thermotherapy and radiotherapy

Objective: To observe the clinical treatment of 105 patients of nasopharyngeal carcinoma with large metastatic cervical lymphnodes.Methods: The patients were divided randomly into three groups, 35 for each group. Group A was treated by combined therapy of Shenlong Liquid (SLL) with thermo- and radio-therapy, group B with combined therapy of thermo- and radio-therapy and group C with radiotherapy alone. The clinical conditions of the three groups were similar before treatment.Results: At the end of the treatment, the immediate regression rates of cervical lymphnodes of A, B and C group were 68.57%, 60.00% and 42.86% respectively, and the effect of group A was the best. In comparison of group A and C, the difference was significant (P < 0.05), but the comparison of group B with A, or B with C was insignificant (P >0.05).Conclusions: The combination therapy of SLL with thermo- and radio-therapy was preferable in treating large metastatic lymphnodes, as SLL was beneficial in increasing the sensitivity of tumor to thermotherapy, reducing their side-effect and preventing the hematogenous metastasis.
